Skylar Walker joined Miller Harrison in February of 2025, where his practice focuses on civil litigation and appeals. Prior to that, Skylar was both a solo practitioner and a freelance researcher and drafter, most notably for Julie J. Nelson Law and the Family Law Executive Committee of the Utah State Bar.
Skylar is a skilled writer with a particular passion for rhetorical flow and persuasion, with a proven record at the Court of Appeals earned through diligent research and analysis. See generally, e.g., Mower v. Mower, 2023 UT App 10, 525 P.3d 110 (principal drafter for Appellant); Hoidal v. Berry, 2024 UT App 157, 560 P.3d 165 (principal drafter for Appellee and Cross-Appellant); Ward v. McGarry, 2024 UT App 169, 561 P.3d 200 (principal drafter for Appellee); see also League of Women Voters of Utah v. Utah State Legislature, 2024 UT 21, 554 P.3d 872 (for amicus curiae Rural Utah Project). Skylar takes a thoughtful and thorough approach to each case, and always prioritizes his clients’ best interests—whether that is best served by blow-for-blow litigation, collaborative problem-solving and compromise, or proactively avoiding risk.
Skylar graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2021 as a member of the Order of the Coif. He received several awards during his law school education, including a Top Oralist Award at the 2020 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He also served as the Executive Citation Editor for the 2021 Edition of the Utah Law Review.
Skylar Walker is also a native of the Salt Lake Valley, and a proud father and husband. When he’s not buried in caselaw, he loves nothing more than taking walks with his dog Bonnie and daughter Jojo to enjoy in the beauty of the Wasatch Front. He has also recently taken up painting tapletop figurines.
