Doug is a partner and founding member of Miller Harrison. He was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, but has deep family roots in Utah. Doug now lives in Davis County with his wife and four children. In his spare time Doug enjoys the outdoors, cooking, music, theater, and being a husband and Dad.

Doug is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts in the State of Utah, and in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Professional Experience

Doug’s legal practice focuses primarily on civil litigation with an emphasis in community association law, real estate, construction, and property rights. Doug cut his teeth on complex, multi-party construction defect lawsuits involving homeowner associations, developers, and contractors, and is experienced with defending and enforcing covenants and restrictions in homeowner association governing documents. Doug represented a Summit County condominium association through a complex, first-of-its-kind construction defect trial which resulted in a jury verdict of $1.8 million in favor of the association. He has successfully prosecuted and defended cases in state and federal court, the Utah Supreme Court, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Doug and his partners represent some of the largest residential builders and developers in Utah in creating and managing community associations.

Doug has been recognized as one of Utah’s Legal Elite.
